History
Swedish Open is one of the oldest international tournaments in the world – with the first edition being played as early as 1968.
One of the biggest highlights was 1987 when the Swedish Open was uniquely played at Circus, a renowned venue in Stockholm. The winner that year was the legend and former world number one Jahangir Khan.
In more recent years the Swedish Open was held in Linköping for 15 years between 2002 and 2018, with 8 former world number ones as winners. The last winner of the tournament was former world number one Ali Farag in 2018 when he beat Germany’s Simon Rösner in the final.
