The World’s Best Come to Stockholm

Champion Fiberglass Swedish Open 2026 presented by Boka Bord can now announce the final player line-ups for this year’s two PSA Silver events.

When the Swedish Open takes place from September 30–October 4, some of the world’s best squash players will gather in Stockholm to compete for two Swedish Open titles – in separate women’s and men’s tournaments.

Eight of the world’s top 20 players will compete in the women’s event, while eight of the world’s top 20 will take part in the men’s event. Together, this means that 16 of the world’s top 20 players will come to Stockholm, across the two separate Swedish Open tournaments.

In addition, three Swedish players have been awarded wildcards, giving them the opportunity to compete against the world’s best on home soil.

Swedish Open will also mark several major milestones for squash in Sweden and Scandinavia.

WOMEN

Eight of the World’s Top 20 Come to Stockholm

The women’s Swedish Open – being played on the PSA World Tour for the first time – will feature a fantastic line-up, with eight of the world’s top 20 players competing in Stockholm.

The tournament is headlined by Fayrouz Aboelkheir (#7), Georgina Kennedy (#8), Tinne Gilis (#9), Amanda Sobhy (#10) and Nele Gilis (#11).

They are joined by Farida Mohamed (#16), Rowan Elaraby (#16) and Melissa Alves (#17).

This gives the Stockholm audience the opportunity to watch eight of the world’s best players battle it out for the Swedish Open title.

 

Two Swedish Wildcards

Moa Bönnemark and Lovisa Ronge have been awarded Swedish wildcards and will take their places in the women’s Main Draw.

The two Swedish players will have the opportunity to test themselves against some of the very best players in the world in front of a home crowd.

MEN

Eight of the World’s Top 20 – A World-Class Line-Up

The men’s Swedish Open will feature an equally impressive line-up, with eight of the world’s top 20 players competing in Stockholm.

The tournament is led by Mohamed Zakaria (#7), followed by Joel Makin (#8), Marwan ElShorbagy (#9) and Mohamed Abouelghar (#13).

They are joined by Leonel Cárdenas (#14), Mohamed ElShorbagy (#15), Yahya Elnawasany (#16) and Grégoire Marche (#19).

With eight players from the world’s top 20, the men’s tournament promises an exceptional level of international competition, led by newly crowned triple junior world champion and world No. 7 Mohamed Zakaria.

 

Swedish Wildcard

Joel Viksten has also been awarded a Swedish wildcard, giving him the opportunity to compete against the world’s best on home soil.

A SWEDISH OPEN WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF

 

This year’s Swedish Open represents a major milestone for squash in Sweden and Scandinavia.

The women’s and men’s tournaments will be staged as separate PSA Silver events, each offering USD 109,000 in prize money, for a combined total of USD 218,000.

After 39 years, Swedish Open is returning to Stockholm at a level never seen before, with 16 of the world’s top 20 players competing across the two tournaments.

We are incredibly proud of this line-up and of what Swedish Open has developed into. To be able to present such a fantastic line-up in both the women’s and men’s tournaments in our first year of bringing Swedish Open back to Stockholm is absolutely incredible.

THE GLASS COURT RETURNS TO STOCKHOLM – FIRST TIME IN ALMOST 40 YEARS

Stockholm, Sweden — For the first time in almost 40 years, a glass court will take center stage in Stockholm as the Champion Fiberglass Swedish Open 2026 introduces a spectacular new finals venue. Delivered by Intersquash in partnership with Roslagshallen, the tournament now offers players and fans an unparalleled experience on squash’s most iconic competition platform.

The Champion Fiberglass Swedish Open 2026 will take place from 30 September to 4 October 2026, with total prize money of USD 180,000 — making it the largest professional squash tournament ever staged on Swedish soil.

The 2026 edition features a dynamic two-venue format. The opening rounds will be held at Roslagshallen — Stockholm’s leading squash venue and home of Intersquash — before the event moves to the all-glass showcourt at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH), located adjacent to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.

The GIH venue will provide an intimate, high-energy arena setting for up to 500 spectators. The reintroduction of the glass court — nearly four decades after it was last seen in Stockholm — offers a world-class platform that enhances visibility, spectator engagement, and the overall event experience.

Tickets for the glass court sessions will be available from 10:00 am on Saturday, 28 February 2026 at www.swedishopensquash.com. All previously purchased tickets will be updated and reissued to ticket holders via email.

Intersquash Club proudly presents, Champion Fiberglass Swedish Open 2026 – one of Europe’s most prestigious squash tournaments. The event will take place at Roslagshallen, Stockholm, from September 30 to October 4, 2026, as part of the PSA World Tour.

For the first time ever, Sweden will host a PSA World Tour event for women – a historic milestone for the sport in the country. Champion Fiberglass Swedish Open 2026 will be the debut of the PSA Women’s World Tour in Sweden, with full Silver status and equal prize money for both men’s and women’s events.
